He obtained his PhD degree from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.zju.edu.cn\/english\/\">the College of Computer Science and Technology<\/a>, Zhejiang University, in 2006. His main research interests are computational models of argumentation and their application in agents and multi-agent systems, explainable AI and ethical AI.<\/pre>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He is the \u2018AI Logic\u2019 corner editor of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/logcom\/pages\/General_Instructions\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Journal of Logic and Computation<\/a>\u00a0(with Leon van der Torre), a member of the editorial board of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/content.iospress.com\/journals\/argument-and-computation\/7\/1\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Argument &amp; Computation\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/collegepublications.co.uk\/ifcolog\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Journal of Applied Logics &#8211; IfCoLog Journal of Logics and their Applications<\/a>, a member of the IfCoLog office as representative for Asian affairs (since 2019), a steering committee member of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/deonticlogic.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">DEON\u00a0<\/a>(since 2018), COMMA (since 2020) and AWPL (since 2020).<\/p>\n<p>He has published 3 monographs, and a number of papers in some leading journals such as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.elsevier.com\/wps\/find\/journaldescription.cws_home\/505601\/description#description\">AIJ<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/logcom.oxfordjournals.org\/\">JLC<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.springer.com\/computer\/ai\/journal\/10472\">AMAI<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.elsevier.com\/journals\/information-sciences\/0020-0255\">Information Sciences<\/a>, Minds and Machines,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jos.org.cn\/ch\/index.aspx\">Journal of Software (in Chinese with English abstract)<\/a>, Academic Monthly (in Chinese), Philosophical Researches (in Chinese), etc., and top conferences such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ijcai.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">IJCAI<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kr.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">KR<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/comma.csc.liv.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">COMMA<\/a>, etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beishui Liao, full professor\u00a0of logic and computer science\u00a0at\u00a0Zhejiang University (since 2013),\u00a0\u201cQiushi\u201d Distinguished Professor.
