The Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Groningen offers a PhD position in Philosophy. This is in addition to the two PhD scholarships recently advertised.<\/p>\n
The position is in the Department of Theoretical Philosophy. Information about the department and staff can be found here: http:\/\/www.rug.nl\/ filosofie\/organization\/theoretical\/?lang=en Applications are invited from high quality prospective PhD students in the areas of philosophy of science, epistemology or formal epistemology.<\/p>\n
Candidates should have a master?s degree in Philosophy with an excellent academic record. They should have a very good command of English and strong academic writing skills.<\/p>\n
The University of Groningen offers a salary of ? 2,174 (salary scale PhD students Dutch Universities) gross per month in the first year, up to a maximum of ? 2,779 gross per month in the final year, based on a fulltime position, excluding a 8% holiday allowance and a 8.3% end of the year bonus. The position will be for four years (unless the candidate’s prior experience is judged to make a three-year position more suitable).<\/p>\n
The preferred starting date is 1 November 2016, or as soon as possible thereafter.<\/p>\n
